The Barbenheimer Phenomenon Was Real, and Historic
An iconic piece of Americana and the philosophical-minded father of the atom bomb have got to be the two most unlikely partners in cinematic history of all time, but here we are—and it’s glorious. Greta Gerwig’s Barbie and Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer—now collectively known as Barbenheimer—joined together to bring in the fourth-largest weekend at the box office in movie history.
Gerwig made history with the largest opening weekend for a female director ever,
A Few of Norm Macdonald’s Funniest “SNL” Moments
By now you’ve likely heard that Norm Macdonald has passed away at the age of 61 after a private battle with cancer for the past nine years. Macdonald was arguably the king of the deadpan delivery, an iconic comedian who always went his own way, even when that way alienated some audience members or involved making another late night show guest squirm. As has been said a lot since the news broke of his passing,
Humor, Horror, and Unpredictable Twists: Us Lives Up to the Hype
Us is unlike anything you’ve ever felt before, on every level. It would seem foolish to expect any film to live up to the hype of that gloriously ambiguous trailer – released this past Christmas – much less the fanfare that comes with a long-queuing SXSW opening night premiere. I joined the line just before 1 pm in the afternoon, a full five and a half hours before the film was set to begin.
International Us Trailer is a Trail of Terrifying Images
Is the Wilson family hitting some bad luck? Or is there truly someone out to get them? A new international trailer for Us reveals even more freaky footage of the unsettling imposter movie.
The two-minute look at the film promises terror after terror. A family beach vacation with a few strange events leaves Adelaide (Lupita Nyong’o) feeling uneasy, but the nightmare has just begun. No one likes being replaced,
Octavia Spencer Goes off the Deep End in MA Trailer
It is said there is nothing easier than taking candy from a baby. If you watch the new MA trailer, however, you’ll find there is nothing easier than giving teenagers booze. That is what makes them easy targets for a diabolic plot to lure them in and torture them.
Is there no limit to Octavia Spencer’s range? She is one of the most universally beloved actresses in America,
First Trailer for Danny Boyle’s Yesterday Re-Writes Beatles History
I have had this thought experiment so many times and now wish I had put pen to paper. What if you were the only person in the world who knew the greatest songs ever written? Would it matter if you didn’t actually write them?
The latest from director Danny Boyle appears to be a refreshing and charming new love story about becoming the biggest star in the world via someone else’s creativity. We all wish we were John,
The New Us Trailer Is Supremely Unnerving
The latest Us trailer will have you seeing sinister intent in every coincidence for the rest of our day. A series of unsettling images that seem a little too perfect and a lot too creepy are the next window we have into the world of Jordan Peele’s upcoming thriller.
When things start to unfold rather conveniently on a family beach vacation, Adelaide Wilson (Lupita Nyong’o) begins to suspect things may be about to go wrong.
Start Your Engines: The First Hobbs & Shaw Trailer is Mind-Blowing Fun
We stan this bromance! Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham tag team in the new Fast & Furious spin-off. Universal’s Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw has its first trailer out today, and boy, does it pack a punch.

Elijah Seems to Mastermind a Meeting of Super-humans in New Glass Trailer
It is difficult to recruit fresh blood in your quest for world domination from inside the confines of a mental institution. That is unless you have superhuman abilities of mental manipulation. Then, your followers will come to you. At least, that is the case for Elijah Price who will finally come face to face with The Beast in Glass.
A new trailer for the culmination of M. Night Shyamalan’s stellar superhero trilogy reveals a little bit more about how Kevin Wendell Crumb (James McAvoy),
Halloween Channels Another Famous Slasher in Deleted Scene
The new Halloween is a modern horror masterpiece, but not every scene made the cut. The home video release features the most extended or deleted scenes that I’ve seen in a long time. There are seven pieces of footage that got slashed from the final release but will be included as extras on Blu-Ray, DVD, and digital.
Universal went ahead and released the first deleted scene on the list,
Elijah Finds the Equal He’s Been Searching for in New Glass Teaser
Dr. Ellie Staple (Sarah Paulson) brazenly challenges Mr. Glass (Samuel L. Jackson), the Beast (James McAvoy), and David Dunn (Bruce Willis) to prove to her that humans with powers exist. They’re probably not the best test subjects if you value your life in any way. A new teaser for Glass shows the diabolic duo of Glass and Beast unleashing on the world.
The climax of Split was uncovering the existence of the Beast within Kevin Crumb’s many personalities.
How the Strodes Honored the Past and Opened the Future of Halloween
The moment after seeing Halloween at TIFF, I was immediately squirming to talk about it with everyone everywhere. The time has finally come to do just that as virtually everyone and their babysitter has now seen the much-anticipated sequel. Halloween cut down the competition with a $33.3 million an opening day in October and raking in $77.5 million in the first weekend. Jamie Lee Curtis shattered dusty records paving the way for other women,
How the Halloween Makeup Designers Perfectly Recreated Michael’s Mask
As we busy ourselves preparing our costumes for Halloween this year, there is one mask that embodies the holiday unlike any other. Michael Myers’ haunting gaze is timeless and can strike chilling fear in all who see it. That empty white stare was immediately iconic with the release of John Carpenter’s 1978 masterpiece. There is so much about the new Halloween that gets this story right, but that mask is perhaps the most satisfying.
Michael Sends a Terrifying Message in New Halloween Clip
Halloween is still 16 days away, but Halloween is a mere four. Michael Myers is back in all his gory glory, and Universal has shared one of the most grimacing scenes from the film ahead of the theatrical release. EW exclusively shared the terrifying moment between the maniac murderer and one of his many victims.
Rhian Rees plays Dana, a journalist pursuing the true story of what happened between Michael (James Jude Courtney) and Laurie (Jamie Lee Curtis) four decades ago.
NYCC: A New Mortal Engines Trailer Reveals a Surprising Connection Between Hester and Valentine
A new Mortal Engines trailer dropped today at New York Comic Con and it gives us a look at what the world was like before civilization collapsed. Oceans were roaring and crystal blue, sunlight was golden and flowers grew. People even flew in personal aircraft and were free to roam about the land. It’s a stark contrast to the industrial metal cities that emerged.
Hester Shaw (Hera Hilmar) and her mother,
The Grinch Enlists His Pets in a Holiday Snatching Scheme
The Grinch may be stealing Christmas, but his pets are going to be stealing the show. The latest trailer for Illumination Animation’s new adaptation of Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch shows off two important animal associates. Max the dog is always a crowd pleaser, but our favorite green grump has a new yak sidekick. They’re adorable and properly annoy the Grinch, which are all pluses.
The Grinch may have a heart two sizes too small,
Halloween Abandoned a Plan to Re-Shoot the Original Ending
We have already been raving about the impressively executed new Halloween, but the more we learn about it, the more amazing this project becomes. The David Gordon Green sequel to the 1978 original nails an incredible balancing act. This is the reboot that all reboots aspire to be. It manages to recall favorite moments from the original without being a remake, there’s a juicy new storyline here, and it will almost certainly find new fans who weren’t already introduced to the franchise.
Laurie and Michael Come Face to Terrifying Face in New Halloween Trailer
Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) is a force of nature. Forty years after her first encounter with the Shape, she has evolved from an unsuspecting target of his bloodlust to a confident protector. The new Halloween trailer reveals how the game has changed since the last time Laurie and Michael (James Jude Courtney) met. Almost all of this footage is new and it’s all unequivocally awesome.
There is a major power shift here through the camera movement alone.
Kevin Hart Plans to Cheat His Way Through Class in Night School Trailer
We have all had some test anxiety and taken those exams where we wish we had the answer key. Ok, maybe even a few of us cheated on a test or two. We don’t judge. But hopefully you never had to resort to these lengths. The new trailer for Night School gives us a more in-depth education as to what the wacky comedy is about.
A group of adults, including Kevin Hart,
James Wan’s Tommyknockers Gets the Glowing Green Light from Universal
James Wan wants to remind everyone to never answer when the Tommyknockers are at the door. The Stephen King renaissance continues with the Aquaman director creating a fresh onscreen adaptation of King’s alien invasion novel. Deadline reports that Wan sealed a deal with Universal Studios to revisit the sci-fi classic.
Released in 1987, Tommyknockers explores a UFO that crash lands in a Maine town (of course).
