Tom Cruise Tells You How to Get That Annoying Motion Smoothing Setting Off Your TV

It’s your first livable wage paycheck. You’re going to start paying down those debts down and maybe even get a nest egg going. But first, you’re going to blow it all on a big screen TV. You lug the thing home, set it up, and kick back to enjoy some Game of Thrones on your epic new system. You scroll through the opening credits, hit play, and that’s when it happens. Daenerys’ dragons look like children’s puppets on sticks and all of Winterfell looks like a green screen glitch in a local weather forecast.

How They Shot That Epic Bathroom Fight Scene in Mission: Impossible — Fallout

Mission: Impossible — Fallout was chock full of jaw-dropping moments. It had Tom Cruise in a motorcycle chase, flying a helicopter, and most importantly, saving the world from nuclear destruction — a pretty big deal if you ask us. The hands down best action franchise in Hollywood (thanks in no small part to stunt coordinator Wade Eastwood) has been delivering the goods for 20 years. But while each fresh spectacle was something to behold,

Rebecca Ferguson Jumps from Mission: Impossible to Men in Black and Doctor Sleep

Rebecca Ferguson rocketed to stardom with her fierce turn as Ilsa Faust in the Mission: Impossible franchise. In Rogue Nation and Fallout (which she shot while pregnant), Ferguson was a standout as an MI6 agent who went deep undercover in the Syndicate. Now, Ferguson is parlaying that success into more on-screen roles.

Per Deadline, the Swedish actress will appear in Doctor Sleep,

Mission: Impossible – Fallout’s Production Designer on Building a World of Mayhem

The sixth installment of Mission: Impossible premiered last Friday to critical praise and a series-best opening at the box office. Among the numerous elements that made MI6 a standout was the continuation of outlandish, death-defying, and yet quite scenic stunts, mostly performed by Tom Cruise himself, in the role of Impossible Missions Force agent Ethan Hunt.

Hunt’s nemesis, Solomon Lane (played by Sean Harris),

Seeing (and Saving) the World With Mission: Impossible – Fallout‘s Location Scout

Jaunty banter, truly insane stunts and Tom Cruise’s seemingly superhuman inability to slow down aside, one of the most arresting aspects of Mission: Impossible — Fallout are the film’s environments. As IMF agent Ethan Hunt, Cruise is chased down, on a motorcycle, through the middle of Paris, crashes through London offices only to end up thwarted on the roof of the Tate Modern (at least the view is stunning), and winds up fighting for the health of the planet on an alarmingly remote bit of rock face in India (played here by an alarmingly remote bit of rock face in Norway).

Stunt Coordinator/Stunt Person

Mission: Impossible – Fallout’s Stunt Coordinator on the Craziest Film in Franchise History

By now it is well known that Tom Cruise, age 56, performs his own stunts. What is not as obvious, unless you are familiar with his whole body of work, is that he is always training, that he learns fresh stunts for new films, and that, according to those who work with him, he shows absolutely no sign of slowing down. Of course, if you caught the commercial and critical hit sixth installment of the Mission: Impossible franchise over the weekend,

James Corden Has a Mission Impossible Moment on The Late Late Show

This sketch of James Corden and Tom Cruise skydiving is the buddy comedy of the year. I saw the clip from last night’s The Late Late Show with James Corden and thought, “Eleven minutes? I’m not watching eleven minutes.” And then I watched it twice. It is absolutely darling.

Cruise has endless patience for being the most daring and professional action actor in Hollywood. Corden is (understandably) petrified which makes for some adorable interactions.

Tom Cruise Trained for Three Months to Pull Off This Crazy Mission: Impossible – Fallout Stunt

Think you could pull off all the stunts Tom Cruise does in a Mission Impossible movie? Here’s what it would take to do just one of his death defying feats. That amazing helicopter sequence we got a glimpse of in the Fallout trailer is called a corkscrew dive, apparently. Cruise spent three months training at Airbus’ helicopter school in Texas so he could fly the helicopter himself. WIRED sent a crew there to go through some training of their own and see the kind of work Cruise put in to make the scene as thrilling as possible.

New Mission: Impossible – Fallout Stunt Reel Revels in Lunacy

Fallout has the most stunts in the history of the Mission: Impossible franchise. The reason why that’s a record is because no major film franchise has had more stunts per movie than Mission: Impossible, period. From Brian De Palma’s crackerjack 1996 opener to Christoper McQuarrie’s 2015 humdinger Ghost Protocol, Mission: Impossible has always taken its title very seriously. Now with McQuarrie becoming the first director to return to the series,

Fortnite’s Dominance Reaches as Far as Mission: Impossible – Fallout

Drake popularized video game phenomenon Fortnite in the music industry. Antoine Griezmann took the game’s dances into the World Cup. Now, Simon Pegg just revealed how important the video game is to the IMF team in Mission: Impossible – Fallout.

At the film’s red carpet premiere in Paris—the city star Tom Cruise admitted the film is a “love letter” to—actor Simon Pegg told CinemaBlend a little bit about how his character Benji spends his free time.

First Reactions Hail Mission: Impossible – Fallout as an Adrenalin-Jacked Masterpiece

Well that didn’t take long. We’ve spent the past couple of days enjoying the fresh Mission: Impossible – Fallout photos and videos that Paramount has been releasing, and now, we can share the first reactions to the film. As we predicted, writer/director Christopher McQuarrie and star Tom Cruise have another smash on their hands. McQuarrie is the first director to return for a second mission in the franchise, and the continuity of the story and his familiarity with his stars and the material seem to have paid off.

See the World While Dangling off a Helicopter in new Mission: Impossible – Fallout Video

We’ve been talking about how Mission: Impossible – Fallout looks like it has the chance to be the most aggressively action-packed film in a franchise famous for it. We shared these new photos, which highlight Mission: Impossible‘s commitment to honoring that Impossible in the title with increasingly insane stunts. Today, we turn our attention to another cornerstone of the franchise—international locations. In a new video shared by Paramount,

These Mission: Impossible – Fallout Images Have the Action of Ten Movies

My aspirations to be an international spy are not going to work well with my grave fear of heights. At least, that’s what these new images from Mission Impossible: Fallout lead me to believe. There’s Tom Cruise jumping out of a plane, hanging off a helicopter, swinging from some helicopter cargo, and casually clinging to a death defying cliff. Are there any espionage jobs that stay on the ground? I think I’ll rule out that career aspiration and leave it to the professionals.

New Fallout Clips Prove Mission: Impossible is the Best Action Franchise

Notoriously perfectionist stunt professional (oh, and actor) Tom Cruise and director Christopher McQuarrie have done it again. Two new clips from Mission: Impossible- Fallout boast the incredibly suspenseful halo jump and a bathroom brawl for the ages. In the series sixth installment, the iconic Ethan Hunt (Cruise) runs into troubles aplenty after an important mission goes wrong. Hunts problem include a babysitter from hell. In real life,

Meet the Mission: Impossible – Fallout Characters in New Behind the Scenes Clip

The more I see of Henry Cavill’s menacing August Walker and his famed mustache, the more I’d rather be jumping out of a window with Tom Cruise than facing him in hand-to-hand combat.

With less than three weeks until Cruise’s sixth Mission: Impossible movie drops, that mustache—I mean man—is becoming a bit less mysterious. In a new behind the scenes featurette, Cavill and other big names behind the project introduce their characters and size up the conflicts that are bound to arise when they’re all thrown together.

Cruise and Cavill Take Out Their Workplace Tension in New Mission: Impossible – Fallout Teaser

Tom Cruise is unstoppable. Neither Henry Cavill nor Henry Cavill’s sentient mustache can get the better of him. A new action-packed morsel showing off the greatest hits – literally – from Mission: Impossible – Fallout features Ethan Hunt (Cruise) and August Walker (Cavill) duking it out. Of course, Ethan always gets the last punch.

The short clip explains where August comes into the mix. Even though Ethan has really proven his stripes,

Raw Footage of the Mission: Impossible – Fallout Stunts is Mindblowing

As someone who cannot successfully execute a cartwheel, I am stunned by the behind-the-scenes of Mission: Impossible – Fallout. I try to maintain an appreciation for the insane talent that goes into making a major action film. However, something like Mission: Impossible is so polished when it hits theaters that I forget how physically involved it is. Put simply, Tom Cruise goes for it. He trained for a year,

Sneak Preview for Mission Impossible: Fallout Will Play Before Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom IMAX

As if you needed another reason to go see Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, and huge dinosaurs on the biggest screen you can find screen this weekend, here’s another one, and it’s real juicy my friends. On IMAX showings for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, you’ll get a first look at footage from the new Mission: Impossible – Fallout, which comes out later this summer.

Watch Tom Cruise Make History Doing a “Halo Jump” From 25,000 Feet in Mission: Impossible – Fallout

Ever since we saw the first  Mission: Impossible – Fallout trailer we’ve been impatiently waiting to see Tom Cruise back in action as super agent Ethan Hunt. Then came that second, somehow even better trailer, and we were convinced this might be the best Mission: Impossible yet. By now we’ve gotten a good look at what led Cruise to get his helicopter pilot’s license (so that he could actually fly his own chopper during an insane chase through the mountains,

The New Mission: Impossible – Fallout Trailer is Pure Adrenalin

You will likely not see a more kinetic, viscerally intense trailer this year. Topping the action from the previous installment in the Mission: Impossible franchise is both as sure and seemingly impossible a thing as death itself. After Ghost Protocol, when Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise, of course) went Spider-Man outside of the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, the world’s tallest building, and ran across the glass face of the building a mile and a half above ground,
