“Mission: Impossible 8” Will Be Tom Cruise’s Last (and Craziest)
Mission: Impossible 7 has likely been Tom Cruise’s hardest challenge yet. This is due to several factors, the first, and most consistently pressing, was the pandemic. This next installment in Cruise’s now two-decade-old franchise has seen its production shut down due to COVID-19 multiple times, forcing Cruise, writer/director Christopher McQuarrie, and the cast and crew to pivot, time and again, with each fresh delay. The second reason is Cruise’s own mentality, which is that each new Mission has to top the last in terms of the “wow”
Here Are 2022’s Likely Blockbusters
With Sony Pictures officially moving Morbius from January 28 to April 1 in light of the omicron surge, it looks like 2022’s first big blockbuster will be another bat-centric offering. Only unlike Jared Leto’s blood-sucking Dr. Michael Morbius, it’s likely going to be Robert Pattinson’s turn as Bruce Wayne in The Batman (March 4) that’ll kick off the year of blockbusters. The allure of Pattinson as Batman, Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman,
“Mission: Impossible – 7” Team Celebrate First Assistant Director Mary Boulding
It’s pretty rare for a director, let alone the stars of a blockbuster film franchise, to take the time to celebrate the work of the first assistant director, but that’s precisely what happened with the Mission: Impossible – 7 team. Director Christopher McQuarrie gathered the film’s big stars to celebrate first AD Mary Boulding for “gracefully managing the impossible” during production for the franchise’s seventh installment. McQuarrie’s Instagram post places Boulding front and center,
New “Mission: Impossible 7” Set Photo Reveals Rebecca Ferguson’s Ilsa Faust
Rebecca Ferguson’s Ilsa Faust might be switching sides—again. A new set photo from Mission: Impossible 7, courtesy writer/director Christopher McQuarrie, shows the former MI6 agent looking quite mysterious. Ferguson’s double agent has been one of the best additions to the last few films, giving Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) a colleague who’s on his level in a way he hasn’t really seen before. Faust is tough, fearless, brilliant, and just as clever at playing every side to get the job done.
New Set Photo From “Mission: Impossible 7” Shows Another Epic Tom Cruise Stunt
It was a little less than a month ago when we shared the news that Mission: Impossible 7 had returned to filming. Now writer/director Christopher McQuarrie has shared a new photo from set, and wouldn’t you know, it reveals Tom Cruise in stunt mode (one of his favorite modes!). The image shows Cruise on top of a train (McQuarrie’s up there, too) filming one of the franchise’s signature sequences—the epic stunt.
“Mission: Impossible – 7” Returns to Filming As Christopher McQuarrie Shares Epic Set Photo
While The Batman has had to suspend filming in England due to star Robert Pattinson contracting the coronavirus, filming has gotten back underway on another massive franchise. Mission: Impossible – 7 has returned to production after shutting down in late March due to the spread of COVID-19. We know the 7th film in the second-most pedigreed spy franchise (behind the ongoing James Bond saga, of course) is back to filming thanks to writer/director Christopher McQuarrie,
Mission: Impossible 7 Eyeing a Return to Filming in September
The cast and crew of Mission: Impossible 7 have their own difficult mission ahead of them; restarting their massive, complicated shoot after production was shuttered due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Speaking with the BBC (via Deadline), first assistant director Tommy Gormley said he believed that filming would begin again in September, and be wrapped by May 2021. The film is directed once again by Christopher McQuarrie,
