Jordan Peele Announces His Directorial Follow-Up to Get Out

If DVD boxsets were a thing in the future, there would someday be a Criterion Collection dedicated to Jordan Peele horror films. That is something that we never could have conceived of 3 years ago, but in a post-Get Out world, it absolutely delights us. Peele has announced his next tale of terror will be titled simply Us, and even teased us with some stunning artwork.

We barely just learned of the existence of Us,

It’s a Battle of the Greats as Science Fiction’s Biggest Awards Announce Finalists

The Hugo Awards have announced their finalists, and it looks like many of our favorites have made the cut. A little less than a year ago, on February 24, 2017, Jordan Peele’s Get Out was released by Universal. It took nearly no time at all for critics and audiences alike to realize Peele had created something truly visionary. Bold, hilarious, terrifying and brilliantly satiric, the Oscar-nominated Get Out was one of the best films of the year, and one of the most daring in recent memory. The story follows Chris (a sensational,

Get Out and The Handmaid’s Tale Take Home WGA’s

The award season this year continues to spread the wealth. A variety of projects is getting recognition rather than a strong front runner sprinting out ahead of the pack. The Shape of Water has racked up the most nominations, but Get Out, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri and other great films have held their own as contenders.

Last night was the Writers Guild of America Awards, which honors scribes across a variety of categories including documentary,

A Peek at Your Oscar Contenders—A Day Before The Nominations

If there’s one film in this year’s Oscar race that could benefit from the current moment in the cultural consciousness, it’s Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. Martin McDonagh’s darkly comic tale of revenge about a middle-aged badass  (best actress frontrunner Frances McDormand) angry at authorities for failing to solve the murder of her daughter seems attuned to the #MeToo and TimesUp movements; ongoing allegations of abuse and harassment within the entertainment industry; and backlash against revelations of the huge pay gap between Michelle Williams and Mark Wahlberg for their work on All the Money in the World.

The Gotham Independent Film Awards are considered the very first step on the long, often winding road towards Oscar glory. Get Out nabbed breakthrough director, for Peele, best screenplay (Peele again), and the audience award.

Jordan Peele’s Horror Film Get Out Drops First Trailer

If Jordan Peele (Key & Peele, Keanu) is involved, we’re interested, and that’s certainly the case with his upcoming horror film Get Out. Written and directed by Peele, Get Out is a horror in the spirit of Night of the Living Dead, a scare-fest that doubles as social commentary. Who better than Peele to bring us back to the days when a horror film actually had a ton to say,
