“Captain America: New World Order” is Officially Filming

Anthony Mackie has officially suited up for his first lead role in a Marvel movie. Captain America: New World Order has begun filming, the fourth film in the Cap franchise, with Mackie reprising his role as Sam Wilson after leading Marvel’s epic Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. 

New World Order will find none other than Harrison Ford playing General Thaddeus Ross (replacing the late William Hurt) and will continue Sam Wilson’s story after the events in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier saw him finally accepting the shield Cap (Chris Evans) gave him at the end of Avengers: Endgame.

Harrison Ford is no stranger to playing the U.S. president. The legendary actor famously played one very resilient Commander in Chief in Wolfgang Petersen’s Air Force One, where he personally kicked butt as President James Marshall and literally tossed Gary Oldman’s communist radical Ivan Korshunov off Air Force One with the deathless quip “get off my plane.” Ford will once again be playing the U.S. president in Marvel Studios’ upcoming Captain America: New World Order, 

Harrison Ford Joins the MCU With Role in “Captain America: New World Order”

Harrison Ford will be taking over for the late William Hurt in the role of General Ross in the upcoming Captain America: New World Order, The Hollywood Reporter confirms. The film is the first MCU feature in which the mantle of Captain America is taken up by Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson and the third Captain America standalone film. Sam Wilson’s acceptance of that role was the thrust of Marvel’s Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
