“Captain America: New World Order” Reveals Cast at Disney’s D23

There were Marvel Cinematic Universe announcements aplenty at Disney’s D23 this past weekend, and one of the most significant was the reveal of some of the headliners in Captain America: New World Order, the first feature film to star Anthony Mackie as the new Cap.

Exciting news coming from Marvel Studios. In case you missed it, at the end of last week the news broke that director Julius Onah would be taking on Captain America 4, which will see Anthony Mackie continue his role as the new Cap after his intense struggle, both internally and with a sect of juiced up revolutionaries hellbent on remaking the world order in Marvel Studios’ The Falcon and the Winter Soldier on Disney+.

Anthony Mackie is picking up the shield again, as we hoped (and expected) he would. The newly minted Captain America, fresh from taking on the mantle of Cap in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, is officially returning to the role for Captain America 4. What’s more, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier creator Malcolm Spellman is co-writing the script.

Mackie’s ascension as a flying Captain America in Marvel’s Disney+ series was a long-in-the-making coronation for the talented,
