James Wan Reveals The Title for “Aquaman” Sequel

We finally know what Aquaman 2 will be called, thanks to director James Wan, courtesy his Instagram page. The next installment of Wan’s vision for Aquaman is titled Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom, which is an interesting title considering Wan’s comments at last year’s DC FanDome event. “The second one is a little bit more serious, a little bit more relevant to the world we’re living in today. That’s where it wants to go.”

If Aquaman wants to go in a more serious direction,

The Creepiest Characters in Aquaman Are Getting Their Own Film

Aqua-mania is real. After eclipsing Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises as the highest-grossing DC Comics film in history, it’s clear the King of Atlantis is here to stay.

While supporting the Aquaman exhibit at Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood, producer Peter Safran divulged exciting information about The Trench, the scheduled Aquaman spinoff he is working on with director James Wan.

How Aquaman‘s Colorist Battled Mera’s Red Hair—and Won

Aquaman made history over the weekend, becoming the highest-grossing film in DC Comics history. Arthur Curry (Jason Momoa)’s journey from high-seas crusader to King of Atlantis surpassed Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises, the final film in his Batman trilogy.

FotoKem colorist Mark Griffith was one of the many, many people who had a huge-but-invisible role in Aquaman’s success. The colorist’s job is to tweak,

Aquaman Tops The Dark Knight Rises and Makes History

It’s official—James Wan’s Aquaman has surpassed Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises as the highest-grossing DC Comics film in history. Wan’s hugely ambitious epic was made that much more difficult for being largely set underwater, yet his team (like cinematographer Don Burgess) rose to the challenge. The result was a swashbuckling epic that swept over audiences both here and abroad, amassing a box office haul that would be any pirates’

Aquaman‘s DP on the Challenge of People Talking & Fighting Underwater

Of all the superheroes (and there are a lot of superheroes if you haven’t noticed), cinematographer Don Burgess was challenged to lens the one with the most problematic superpowers and origin story. Unlike Batman’s gritty Gotham, Superman’s soaring Metropolis or even Black Panther’s glorious Wakanda, there is no superhero who presents a tougher challenge to a filmmaker than Aquaman and his underwater kingdom of Atlantis.

Why James Wan Chose Aquaman over The Flash

As we near Aquaman‘s premiere this Friday, December 21, one of the more interesting tidbits to come to light is how director James Wan had his choice between taking on the Atlantean superhero or The Flash. Wan spoke with the New York Times and confirmed during the interview that Warner Bros. had given him his choice between the two very different DC characters:

We’re only a few short weeks away from the premiere of James Wan‘s epic Aquaman, and now Warner Bros. has released a massive trove of photos revealing Yahya Abdul-Mateen II’s Black Manta, the throne room of the Fisherman Kingdom and a whole lot more. The new images speak to early reactions of the film, which hail a swashbuckling epic that’s both ferociously entertaining and funny (with star Jason Momoa having the absolute time of his life).

First Aquaman Reactions Salute Swashbuckling Epic

The best DC movie since The Dark Knight. The second best DC movie (perhaps behind The Dark Knight). On par with Patty Jenkins fantastic Wonder Woman origin story. A swashbuckling epic full of massive emotions and a tidal wave of action. Folks, the first reactions to James Wan‘s Aquaman are in, and they are more or less every shade of enthused.

The Final Aquaman Trailer is the Best yet

The final trailer for Aquaman is here. Warner Bros. has released our last extended look at James Wan’s ambitious take on the titular aquatic superhero. Part human, part Atlantean, and all beefcake (Jason Momoa, of course), Aquaman promises to be the biggest stand-alone DC film in terms of sheer scope. The final trailer hinges on Aquaman’s iconic trident, one that plays a crucial role in keeping the underwater city of Atlantis afloat (so to speak).

Aquaman Behind-the-Scenes Video Reveals James Wan’s Underwater Epic

Warner Bros. has just dropped our best look yet at the epic undertaking that James Wan, his cast and crew took on with Aquaman. In a three minute behind-the-scenes video, Wan and his cast talk about bringing the world of Aquaman to the big screen, which included a massive amount of underwater shots, underwater stunt work, and the huge task of bringing an underwater world to life.

Aquaman and Associates Prepare for War Beneath the Waves in New Character Posters

These Aquaman posters are the coolest thing to happen to human-like underwater dwellers since mermaids. Who needs a fin when you can have shimmery gold scale leggings? If nothing else, these characters are going to be the flashiest cosplay to come out of the DCEU.

Warner Bros. released the character posters today, showing off the spectacle to come. Each one focuses on something a little different and equally cool.

New Aquaman TV Spot is a Whale of Time

We are officially under two months away from the premiere of James Wan’s Aquaman. As we swim towards the December 21 release, Warner Bros. is releasing a bounty of TV spots for Wan’s ambitious epic. We’ve seen a couple of rubes get in Arthur Curry (Jason Momoa)’s face in this spot, while the 5-minute long trailer released during New York Comic Con gave us our most extended look yet the story,

Very Dumb Person Shoves Arthur Curry in new Aquaman TV Spot

It’s a classic moment we’ve seen countless times before, yet one that never gets old. A bunch of “tough guys” crowd the unusual newcomer and start mocking him. We saw it when Arnold Schwarzeneggar’s T-800 arrived (again) in Los Angeles in T2: Judgement Day, naked, and walked into a biker bar. We’ve seen it when a couple of goons were sent to rouse Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) from bed and rough him up in X-Men: First Class.

From Hell to Space to Atlantis: Highlights From New York Comic Con

This was the 13th year that the Javits Center hosted New York Comic Con (NYCC), and it was massive. CNBC reports that this year’s NYCC was the biggest in its history, with more than 250,000 tickets sold (in NYCC’s first year, in 2006, they sold a bit more than 12,000 tickets.) This year NYCC also expanded to six other locations (The Credits hosted three panels at one of those locations),

NYCC: Extended Aquaman Trailer Reveals Arthur’s Traditional Costume

In the midst of New York Comic Con, a new hero is rising. An epic five-minute trailer released today reveals much more about Arthur Curry’s (Jason Momoa) ascension to Aquaman than we’ve ever seen. To rise to his promised place on the throne, he must first descend beneath the waves.

A single drop of sweat, or uh other bodily fluid, can unlock the secrets to a watery alternate realm.

James Wan Confirms Aquaman Won’t Have Other Justice League Characters

Looks like Aquaman (Jason Momoa)’s going to have fight Black Manta (Yahya Abudl-Matteen II) and King Orm (Patrick Wilson) on his own. Director James Wan confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that the Atlantean superhero won’t have his super squad backing him—Wonder Woman, Cyborg, Batman and the Flash won’t be appearing in the film. Wan spoke with Warner Bros. when he was tapped to direct and told them of his vision of telling a proper,

New Aquaman Images Reveal the Film’s Monster Ambitions

Last week we shared Aquaman‘s righteous first trailer fresh from Cinema-Con. The nearly two and a half minute burst of underwater mayhem has given hopeful fans of both the character and director James Wan a reason to be thrilled. Seeing the the legendary Atlantian superhero leading his own franchise, with what appears to be some of the most ambitious filmmaking in the DCEU’s history, is reason for excitement. Massive underwater battles and brilliantly constructed sequences in Atlantis were two eye-popping moments in the trailer.

SDCC 2018: Worlds Collide in the Wild First Aquaman Trailer

The DCEU has seen some major battle sequences in the past, but this takes things to a whole new level. Warner Bros. finally dropped our first real look at the standalone Aquaman film after director James Wan teased it last week.  We expected to see bits of Arthur Curry’s origin and his introduction to the underwater kingdom that is rightfully his, and we got them. But by the end of the trailer we were promised an underwater war that could rival any that have graced the big screen before.
