You Season Five Production Adds Nearly $50 Million to New York’s Economy

Final Season Created Over 940 Jobs For Local Residents

March 26, 2025

NEW YORK – The fifth and final season of Warner Bros. Television’s You contributed more than $49.8 million to New York’s economy during production, according to new studio data released today. The statewide economic activity included more than $18.4 million injected into local businesses and more than $31.4 million in wages earned by 945 local cast and crew.

The series shot in Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens, with additional filming in Point Lookout on Long Island and Harrison in Westchester County. The production also participated in New York’s Film and TV Tax Credit Program, which Gov. Kathy Hochul has proposed extending and enhancing this year.

You’s final chapter closes a thrilling series — and tells a clear story about what our industry means off-screen, in the streets of New York: nearly 1,000 local jobs created, dozens of small businesses supported, and a collection of local communities strengthened through the power of production,” said Charles Rivkin, Chairman and CEO of the Motion Picture Association (MPA). “When creators, casts, and crews shoot on location, New Yorkers know it translates into a massive investment in their backyards. Lawmakers in Albany see it too, and we urge them to extend and enhance the production incentive program that delivers this success statewide.”

“We’re proud to be a local home base for production, capturing the debut and final season of You right here in our state-of-the-art facility,” said Kris Bagwell, Executive Vice President & General Manager, Silvercup Studios. “We’ve witnessed firsthand the economic upswing a single feature or show – shot on our local stages – brings to New Yorkers near and wide. An investment in this industry preserves the immediate and lasting benefits that reach our doors and stakeholders alike.”

You season five premieres April 24, streaming only on Netflix.
