Dolittle

Tonight, in partnership with NBCUniversal, the Motion Picture Association hosted a family-friendly screening of Dolittle — a reboot of the beloved 1967 classic — at our headquarters in Washington, D.C.
Dolittle, based on the titular character created by Hugh Lofting, is primarily inspired by the author’s second Doctor Dolittle book, The Voyages of Doctor Dolittle (1922). Seven years after his wife’s death, the eccentric John Dolittle (Robert Downey Jr.), famed doctor and veterinarian in Victorian England, becomes a hermit, hiding himself away behind the high walls of Dolittle Manor, with only his menagerie of animals for company. But when Queen Victoria falls gravely ill, a reluctant Dolittle is forced to set sail on an epic adventure to a mythical island in search of a cure, regaining his wit and courage as he crosses old adversaries and encounters wondrous creatures.
Motion Picture Association Chairman and CEO Charles H. Rivkin welcomed guests to the screening along with Cort Bush, Senior Director, NBCUniversal Media.
