Motion Picture Association Statement on Confirmation of Kelly Loeffler as Small Business Administrator
WASHINGTON – The U.S. Senate today confirmed Kelly Loeffler as the next Small Business Administrator. The following is a statement from the Motion Picture Association:
“The Motion Picture Association welcomes the opportunity to work with Small Business Administrator Kelly Loeffler to ensure the vitality of small and local businesses following her Senate confirmation today.
“Small businesses are a vital part of the film, television, and streaming industry’s genetic makeup. Comprising 122,000 businesses nationwide – 92% of which employ fewer than 10 people – the entertainment ecosystem is an engine for economic growth. Whenever a major production shoots on location, cities and small towns receive a $1.3 million economic boost every day of filming – and nearly every penny makes its way into the hands of a small business owner.
“As a former Senator in the booming production hub of Georgia, we have no doubt that Administrator Loeffler recognizes the importance of the MPA and our iconic industry.”
