Motion Picture Association Statement on the Designations of Brendan Carr as Chairman of the FCC and Andrew Ferguson as Chairman of the FTC

WASHINGTON – Today, Brendan Carr was designated Chairman of the FCC and Andrew Ferguson as Chairman of the FTC. The following is a statement from the Motion Picture Association:

“The Motion Picture Association welcomes the designations of Brendan Carr as Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission and Andrew Ferguson as Chairman of the Federal Trade Commission. Both agencies pursue core missions shared by the MPA: to ensure free speech, protect consumers, combat illegal activities, and promote healthy competition and a growing economy.

“The film, television, and streaming industry – and the workforce it represents – embraces a robust communications marketplace, a level playing field, and a strong crackdown on digital piracy. The MPA looks forward to working with Chairman Carr and Chairman Ferguson to meet these goals.”
