Whoever is standing just off camera may remain a mystery, but one thing is certain; fans have been waiting a very long time for Lynch to return to this iconic T series. In this very first glimpse, Showtime gives you Lynch, in all his glory, returning as FBI agent Gordon Cole in the Twin Peaks revival, which will premiere in 2017 on Showtime, as well as online. The new series picks up twenty-five years after the inhabitants of the titular northwestern town were shocked when their homecoming queen, Laura Palmer, was brutally murdered. This new enstallment of the franchise is written and produced by series creators and executive producers David Lynch and Mark Frost, with every episode directed by Lynch.
The show boasts a who's who of incredible character actors and, interestingly, legendary musicians. These include Monica Bellucci, Michael Cera, Richard Chamberlain, David Duchovny, Sky Ferreira, Robert Forster, Ernie Hudson, David Patrick Kelly, David Koechner, Jane Levy, Matthew Lillard, Bérénice Marlohe, Derek Mears, Sara Paxton, Max Perlich, Nine Inch Nails' icon Trent Reznor, Tim Roth, John Savage, Harry Dean Stanton, Ethan Suplee, Russ Tamblyn, Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder and Alicia Witt.
Previously-confirmed returning cast included Kyle MacLachlan as Dale Cooper, Sherilyn Fenn as Audrey Horne, Sheryl Lee as Laura Palmer, Mädchen Amick as Shelly Johnson, Michael Horse as Deputy Hawk, Dana Ashbrook as Bobby Briggs, Miguel Ferrer as Albert Rosenfeld, Peggy Lipton as Norma Jennings, Everett McGill as Ed Hurley, and Ray Wise and Grace Zabriskie as Leland and Sarah Palmer. As mentioned, Lynch returns as FBI Regional Bureau Chief Gordon Cole, and Warren Forest has a cameo as Dr. Will Hayward.
The list of newcomers is also outrageous, and includes Ashley Judd, James Belushi, Larry Clarke, Laura Dern, Balthazar Getty, Grant Goodeve, Caleb Landry Jones, Robert Knepper, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Amanda Seyfried, Tom Sizemore and Naomi Watts.
Now here to brighten your Tuesday is Lynch going full donut.
