A Series of Unfortunate Events Comes to Netflix
Netflix’s latest direct-to-streaming production, a TV series adaption of Lemony Snicket’s critically acclaimed A Series of Unfortunate Events, has unveiled its first trailer. The bestselling 13-part children’s series was released between 1999 and 2006, and has already seen a theatrical adaption starring Jim Carrey as the evil Count Olaf in 2004.
This time around, Neil Patrick Harris is taking the reigns as he stalks and traumatizes the Baudelaire orphans, Violet (Malina Weissman), Klaus (Louis Hynes), and infant Sunny, in an attempt to steal their family fortune. The series, directed by Barry Sonnenfeld, will also feature Joan Cusack as Justice Strauss and Patrick Warburton as Snicket himself. The first eight episodes, based off the first four books, will be released on January 13, 2017.
