Hap Rigby
Hap Rigby is Senior Vice President of Federal Government Affairs at the Motion Picture Association. In this role, he focuses primarily on advocating for the MPA member companies’ priorities on technology and media policy before the U.S. Congress and executive branch agencies.
Prior to joining MPA, Hap worked for six years as a senior policy advisor at Wiley LLP, where he advocated before federal policymakers on behalf of television networks, broadband providers, satellite operators, and communications trade associations. Before that, he served in the U.S. Senate for more than a decade, including six years at the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, staffing the Committee on telecommunications, media, and broadband policy and oversight of the Federal Communications Commission.
Hap earned a bachelor’s degree with concentrations in marketing and human resource management from the University of South Carolina. He and his wife reside in Washington, DC, with their son and daughter.
