Star Wars: The Force Awakens Wins big at MTV Movie Awards
You have to love the MTV Movie Awards—they're all about having a good time and loving movies the way you did when you were younger, when you were less critical and a lot more open to rating things like, oh, the best kiss scene. Also, they've got Salt-n-Peppa doing an acappella version of "Shoop."
As for the movies themselves, it's not that surprising that your Movie of the Year was The Force Awakens, a film every single person in this country saw, and just about every single person at least liked. But The Force Awakens wasn't done there; Breakthrough Performance went to Daisy Ridley, and Best Villain went to Adam Driver. We're a little surprised the bear from The Revenant didn't take home the award for Best Fight (it went to Ryan Reynolds and Ed Skrein of Deadpool), but we weren't surprised at all that Best Female Performance went to Charlize Theron for basically owning Mad Max: Fury Road.
