No Time to Die Super Bowl Spot Promises Everything is About to Change
With No Time to Die representing Daniel Craig’s final turn as her Majesty’s most resilient (and lethal) super spy, it doesn’t feel like hyperbole when the studio claims that the film will change everything. In a deliciously action-packed Super Bowl spot, we’re not only promised that the 25th installment in the venerable franchise would change everything forever, but that there’s a secret that will be the death of Bond should it ever get out. You know his many enemies will make sure that happens.
Craig’s final tour of duty looks like it’s going to be excellent. He’s working with co-writer and director Cary Joji Fukunaga, with a script he wrote with Neal Purvis, Robert Wade, Scott Z. Burns, and Emmy-winner Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Craig is surrounded by an insanely talented cast, including newcomers like Rami Malek’s villain Safin, who has burn marks (we think) covering most of his face, Latasha Lynch’s new agent Nomi, and Ana de Armas’s Paloma, who will figure into the plot when the action moves to Cuba.
We learned from the first trailer that Bond’s retirement was, of course, short-lived. He must leave his Jamaican idyll and re-enter the workforce to deal with the new threat posed by Safin. Old allies return, like Madeleine Swann (Léa Seydoux) and Jeffrey Wright’s CIA agent Felix Leiter. There are old enemies, too; Christoph Waltz’s Blofeld, who never miss an opportunity to try and meddle in world affairs and ruin Bond’s day.
Check out the new Super Bowl spot below. The film hits theaters on April 10, 2020.
Here’s the official synopsis:
In No Time To Die, Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.
