Watch the Moment Han Wins the Millennium Falcon From Lando & More in 2 New Solo Clips
Star Wars Day is always special, especially when it falls on a Friday. Today’s already been a great one, thanks to Lucasfilm releasing a bunch of new Solo: A Star Wars Story photos and clips. One of these clips isn’t your typical brief sequence from the upcoming film, but rather a 360º video in which you’re in control of what you see. This means you’ll be the young Han (Alden Ehrenreich) and get to gamble for the Millennium Falcon. That’s right folks, May the 4th be with you as you put all your chips on the table and bet Lando (Donald Glover) for the most iconic ship in the galaxy.
The second clip features Han, now in the pilot’s seat aboard the Falcon, trying to evade some TIE Fighters with Chewie (Joonas Suotamo) and Qi’Ra (Emilia Clarke) in the cockpit alongside him. Han figures out two things in this moment: that Chewie can fly, and that he’s 190-years old. This is the moment the two officially become pilot and co-pilot, it seems. Also best friends.
In an interesting development, Lucasfilm will be screening Solo for press ahead of the film’s junket. This has not been the Lucasfilm way, as the last three films—The Force Awakens, Rogue One and The Last Jedi—weren’t available to the press before their junkets. The positive outlook on this is that the studio feels really good about the film, and believe the press will be able to spread the good word about the young Han’s adventures.
Joining Ehrenreich, Glover, Clarke and Suotamo are Woody Harrelson as Han’s mentor in all things smuggling, Tobias Beckett, Paul Bettany as the criminal Dryden Vos, Phoebe Waller-Bridge as the droid K7-37, Jon Favreau as the alien Rio Durant, and Thandie Newton as the mysterious Val.
Solo: A Star Wars Story opens in theaters on May 25th.
