MPAA CEO Charles Rivkin Elected to the American Academy of Diplomacy
WASHINGTON – MPAA Chairman and CEO Charles Rivkin was recently elected as a member of the American Academy of Diplomacy (AAD). A group of more than 250 esteemed former senior ambassadors and leaders in foreign policy, the AAD works to strengthen American diplomacy and enhance public appreciation of its critical role in advancing the national interest.
“Serving my country first as Ambassador to France and Monaco and then as Assistance Secretary for Economic and Business Affairs was the honor of a lifetime,” said Rivkin. “I am deeply humbled to have been elected to such a respected group of public servants, and look forward to continued service to our country through diplomacy.”
Academy members are nominated and elected by their peers through a rigorous selection process. Candidates are considered based on distinguished accomplishments, sustained performance, and a continuing interest in foreign affairs, among other criteria related to professional achievements.
“AAD represents a unique wealth of talent and experience in the practice of American foreign policy,” said Ambassador Ronald Neumann, President of the American Academy of Diplomacy. “With exceptional service in Paris – for which he was personally awarded the Légion d’honneur with the rank of Commander by French President François Holland in 2013 and la Grande Médaille de Vermeil de la Ville de Paris in 2015 – Ambassador Rivkin is a welcome addition to the AAD’s distinguished membership.”
