Statement from MPAA CEO Charles Rivkin on Congress and the Administration’s tax reform framework

WASHINGTON – The following is a statement from Ambassador Charles Rivkin, CEO of the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), on the joint announcement from the Trump Administration and Congressional leaders on the progress they have made to reform America’s tax code.

“The MPAA is encouraged by the tax reform framework released today by the Trump Administration and Congressional leaders.

“The U.S. film and television industry supports two million American jobs and 88,000 small businesses across all 50 states. Meaningful tax reform, as reflected in this framework, will promote our nation’s global competitiveness and encourage more domestic production and jobs in American industries, including film and television.

“The MPAA thanks Treasury Secretary Mnuchin, National Economic Council Director Cohn, Leader McConnell, Speaker Ryan, Chairman Hatch, and Chairman Brady for their leadership. We look forward to working with both the Trump Administration and Congress as the process moves forward to rebuild an American tax system that creates U.S. jobs and drives economic growth.”
