Statement from Senator Chris Dodd on Brendan Carr’s nomination to serve as FCC commissioner

WASHINGTON – The following is a statement from Senator Chris Dodd, Chairman and CEO of the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), on Brendan Carr’s nomination to serve as a commissioner for the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

“The MPAA congratulates Brendan Carr on his nomination to serve as FCC commissioner. As a former appellate law clerk and veteran of the FCC, with a three-year stint advising Chairman Pai and time in the General Counsel’s Office, including as its top lawyer, Mr. Carr is well positioned to promote investment, innovation, and sound communications policy. The MPAA looks forward to working with Mr. Carr, should the Senate confirm him.”
