Statement from Senator Chris Dodd in support of Vishal Amin for Intellectual Property Enforcement Coordinator

WASHINGTON – The following is a statement from Senator Chris Dodd, Chairman and CEO of the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), on the Senate Judiciary Committee’s vote to send the nomination of Vishal J. Amin for White House Intellectual Property Enforcement Coordinator (IPEC) to the full Senate.

“The MPAA applauds today’s vote by the Senate Judiciary Committee to send Vishal Amin’s nomination for White House Intellectual Property Enforcement Coordinator to the full Senate. The IPEC plays a vital role in managing the government’s efforts to reduce copyright infringement and other IP theft. The work of the IPEC also drives America’s vibrant creative industries, which now contribute more than $1.2 trillion to GDP and employ more than 5.5 million Americans across all 50 states.
