MPAA names Matt Bennett Executive Vice President for Corporate Communications
WASHINGTON – Senator Chris Dodd, Chairman and CEO of the Motion Picture Association of America, Inc. (MPAA) announced today that Matt Bennett has joined the association as Executive Vice President for Corporate Communications. Bennett is replacing Laura Nichols, who departed in February to become Senior Vice President and Chief Communications Officer at National Geographic Partners.
Bennett previously served as Senior Vice President and D.C. Practice Lead for Racepoint Global, an international public relations firm. He led the agency’s public affairs work, designing strategic campaigns focused on advancing public policy priorities, developing thought leadership platforms and building trusted connections with influencers. Prior to his work with Racepoint, Bennett was Senior Vice President of Communications and Public Affairs at PhRMA, the trade association representing leading research-based pharmaceutical companies. He was responsible for all internal and external communications, and launched a rebranding effort that focused the pharmaceutical industry as science and patient oriented.

Previously, Bennett was Senior Vice President at GolinHarris, where he worked with Fortune 500 clients in the technology, health care and retail industries. Bennett earned his B.A. and M.A. degrees, both in political science, from American University in Washington, D.C.
