Chris Pratt Turns the Camera on the Crew in Jurassic World Journals
Filming Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom takes a village. Capturing all the action requires not only talented actors, but also a massive crew. Star of the franchise, Chris Pratt, has created a series of clips called ‘Jurassic Journals’ that gives credit where credit is due. At The Credits, that’s what we’re all about so we’re loving these behind the scenes peeks at one of the biggest film sets around.
Pratt’s videos share a snapshot of many of the jobs on set including safety diver Pete Harcourt, assistant script supervisor Kelly Krieg, Edge arm driver Dean Bailey, and make-up artist Vivian Baker. Harcourt and Pratt are seen swimming together in a tank in scuba gear while Pratt remains in costume. Harcourt is responsible for the actors’ safety in underwater scenes. Krieg has a lengthy list of duties, but it even involves horses, sheep, and a herd of alpacas. Baker worked with Pratt in the previous Jurassic Park and she explains why even dirt has to be specifically applied to the actor’s face. Lastly, in the clip featuring Bailey, we get a look at the insane work that goes on behind the scenes like driving a pickup truck at high speeds with a camera attached.
??Mad respect to all the behind the scenes folks who make movies what they are. Next time you see a movie, read that list of names that scrolls by at the end of the film. Each one plays a vital role in polishing the piece for which us actors often get credit. ?????♥ https://t.co/M7LYQP2JJB

It is heartening to see Pratt, whose career has skyrocketed in recent years, put the spotlight on the workers below the line. Pratt is dedicated to sharing their story, even when they might be needed for work elsewhere on set. Oops! Many of these talented artists have worked on several of your favorite films. Harcourt alone has worked on the last four James Bond movies and 2017’s The Mummy. Just don’t ask him if Tom Cruise or Chris Pratt is the better swimmer. These videos truly highlight how their work is so vital to the film we finally see on screen. Watch all of the ‘Jurassic Journals’ Pratt has shared from set so far.
